The official HSC Routine 2027 was published on May 15, 2026, said the Dhaka Education Board chairman. The Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee released the final routine simultaneously across all 11 education board websites.
The announcement came after a key meeting chaired by Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon at the Secondary and Higher Education Division, attended virtually by all education board chairmen, teachers, and guardian representatives.
The HSC and equivalent examinations are now confirmed to begin on June 06, 2027, a date set by the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee.
Why Was HSC Shifted to June in 2027?
Before 2020, Bangladesh started the HSC exam in early April every year. COVID-19 broke that cycle, and the exam drifted deep into the second half of the year — it did not begin until 17 August in 2023.
It has been walking back ever since: 30 June in 2024, 26 June in 2025, and 7 June in 2026. So June 2027 is not a fresh delay — it is the calendar tightening up. HSC 2027 runs 6 June to 13 July 2027, a five-and-a-half week window.
Three things fix the start on 6 June:
- SSC comes first. SSC 2027 runs 7 January – 6 February 2027, with practicals finishing by 11 February. The boards need the months in between to mark scripts and publish results before the next public exam begins.
- Ramadan and Eid-ul-Fitr. Ramadan begins in early February 2027 and Eid-ul-Fitr is expected around 10 March 2027, which closes off most of that window.
- Eid-ul-Adha. Expected around 16 May 2027 — the exam opens roughly three weeks after it.
The longer-term plan matters too. Announcing the schedule on 14 May 2026, Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon said the government wants to bring the public exam calendar back in line with the academic year, and eventually hold both SSC and HSC in December. At a stakeholder meeting on 12 May 2026, students, teachers and guardians opposed jumping straight to December — so 2027 is a step in that direction, not the destination.
Syllabus, Marks & Duration
NCTB officially confirmed that HSC 2027 will be conducted on the full syllabus — no short syllabus, no reduced marks, no concessions like the COVID years. Every subject carries 100 marks with a full 3-hour exam duration. Both groups sit in the same exam hall on the same dates — the syllabus difference applies only to question paper variants.

These rules apply to all candidates across all 11 boards — regular, irregular, and improvement alike. Ignorance of the rules is not accepted as an excuse at any exam centre.
Mandatory Instructions for HSC Candidates
Documents — carry both every single day:
- Admit Card — no entry without it; keep it safe for every paper
- Registration Card — required alongside your admit card at all times
Timing — arrive early, not on time:
- Report to your exam centre at least 30 minutes before the scheduled start time
- Morning shift: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
- Afternoon shift: 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM (select subjects only)
- Latecomers may be denied entry — the gate closes at exam start time
Inside the Exam Hall:
- No mobile phones, smartwatches, or any electronic device — possession alone means cancellation, even if unused
- No unauthorized books, notes, or papers of any kind
- Fill your OMR sheet carefully — wrong bubbling means lost marks with no correction allowed
- Write your Roll Number, Registration Number, and Subject Code correctly on every answer script
- Do not leave the hall within the first 1 hour of the exam under any circumstances
- Use only black ball-point pen on your answer script
Malpractice — zero tolerance:
- Any form of copying, impersonation, or cheating = automatic cancellation of the full exam
- Repeat offences can result in a multi-year ban from all board examinations
- Expulsion from the exam hall is permanent — you cannot re-enter that day
Practical Exams:
- Practical exams are held after all theory papers are complete — scheduled for July 2027
